The Little Things
Our area is saturated with photographers. Wedding, portrait, you name it. So why in the heck would I pick up my camera again? Well, it’s simple. We are all different.
Everyone has their own style and their own way of doing things. I believe mine is different from everyone else that I see in our area. That doesn’t make anyone better or worse, just different.
So what is my style? Well, it’s simple. Really, I try to keep things simple. I believe in good, honest photography. I don’t rely on a lot of props or heavy filters in photoshop or other editing software. I think my work should be done in camera, that is my job. If I can’t make a beautiful photograph in camera, I’m really not interested. I feel like a lot of “editing” can distract from the subject. I want the focus to be on my subject and I want to feel the moment when I look at that photograph.
I believe that beautiful photographs should be printed. I feel like we lose enough images to the digital black hole, and professional portraits should not be dismissed so easily. For that reason I have set up my photography packages so that I take care of the printing for you. I will deliver beautifully printed portraits on high quality papers. I use Millers Professional Images because I believe their work is unmatched in quality.
I believe all of these little things are what make my photography different than everyone else. Perhaps these things make me old-fashioned. If that’s the case I’m ok with that. When I’m old and grey and Olivia wants to show her grandkids a photograph of her childhood she will have something real to show them. Something that she can hold that will represent her joy and love captured through an image not representative of past trends, but of her true self. I think she will be proud of that.
That handsome fella you see above is exactly who you see in these images. He is full of personality but a true Texan at heart. That snow was too cold!
